Call for Workshop Proposals

call for workshop proposals

SD72 Core Pro-D Committee is inviting any SD72 Educators interested in facilitating a professional development workshop during the 2023-24 school year to complete the “Call for Workshop Proposals” form.

Workshops Proposals may be sumbitted for any of the Pro-D Days or as an afterschool session.

Proposals will be accepted on an ongoing basis, however for workshops intended to be hosted on PD days, the sooner they are received the better.   PD day deadlines are included below.

The Core Committee is looking for workshops that will support educators learning across all curriculum and classroom styles and skills, and/or address the current strategic goals.

The areas of interest identified in the educators year end survey included:

- Literacy   - Numeracy - Assessment  - Classroom management/community  - Mental Health; SEL; Trauma Informed Practice  - Truth, Reconciliation and Indigenous Ways of Knowing -  Outdoor/Place based learning

In addition,  we are especially interested in workshops that will help educators to decolonize their practices, further their use of First People Principles of Learning, and provide some “how to” of incorporating Indigenous resources in various curriculum areas.

Finally,  We would like to connect with Teacher/EA partners who are finding collaborative and classroom success and would be interested in hosting a workshop highlighting how to best collaborate and work together for student success.

SD72 Teachers may be eligible for a Teachers teaching Teachers grant for facilitating workshops at a district level and planned for on their own time.  More information can be obtained from the PD Coordinator

We are excited to receive your proposal and appreciate your commitment to being a continuous learner and leader.
